  • Helps plant roots breathe, especially during hot summer days
  • Protects the nutrient solution from algae growth and reduces contamination
  • Extends the lifespan of the nutrient solution, helping to reduce water consumption

Description

Not only the above-ground parts of plants, but also their roots require an adequate supply of oxygen for healthy development. Hot summer weather increases the temperature of the nutrient solution. The warmer the solution becomes, the less dissolved oxygen it can retain. Insufficient root development can negatively affect plant growth and yields. Oxygen-deficient water also creates favourable conditions for parasitic organisms such as certain species of algae and bacteria.

For this reason, an aeration system is a very important part of any hydroponic setup. The system consists of an air pump, silicone tubing, and an air stone. The pump draws air from the surrounding environment and delivers it through the tubing to the air stone. The air stone is placed inside the nutrient reservoir, where it releases air in the form of fine bubbles. The package includes the following components:

  • Air Pump (600 l/h)
  • Silicone Tubing (1 m)
  • Air Stone (100 mm)

The aeration system connects directly to one of the Smart Greenhouse control unit outputs. Depending on conditions, the control unit automatically activates the air pump whenever additional oxygenation of the nutrient solution is required. This helps extend the lifespan of the nutrient solution, improve plant health, and reduce electricity consumption.

  • Power Supply (230 V AC)
  • Power Consumption (10 W)
  • Air Flow Rate (600 litres per hour)
  • Protection Rating (IP X4)
