The Story Behind the Smart Greenhouse
The Idea
One summer day, two university students were sitting in a park when they asked themselves a simple question: could growing fresh food be made easier, even in today's busy world? That question became the beginning of the Smart Greenhouse.
The First Prototype
Limited resources and modest means were outweighed by determination and passion. Armed with nothing more than a pencil and a sheet of paper, we began sketching. After weeks of intensive work, the first prototype of the Smart Greenhouse came to life. There was still a long road ahead, but our intuition told us to keep going.
First Customer
At first, we showed the Smart Greenhouse only to friends and family. Over time, however, we found the courage to offer a pilot version on our website. The excitement of receiving our very first order is something we will never forget.
Hydroponics for Everyone
Hydroponics is a clean and efficient way to grow healthy food without unnecessary chemicals. However, most hydroponic systems are designed for commercial use and are impractical for home gardeners. We changed that with our patent-pending technology, making hydroponic growing accessible even in your own backyard.
The First Aquaponic Greenhouse
Hydroponics quickly proved successful and became part of most Smart Greenhouses. Plants are the foundation, but true self-sufficiency often requires more. That is why we introduced a modern aquaponic pond, where fish provide nutrients for the plants, and the plants naturally purify the water. The pond also harvests rainwater and stores solar heat, helping to create a more sustainable growing environment.
Rapid Growth
Turning a student project into a successful company required many pieces to fall into place. Thanks to the support of our families, friends, team members, partners, and customers, we made it happen. Sensorie's success was recognized by Deloitte Fast 50, ranking 16th in Central Europe in the “Companies to Watch” category, with an average annual growth rate of 276%.
A European Vision
We created the Smart Greenhouse not only for ourselves, but for a growing community of gardeners and growers. What began at home is now reaching beyond our borders. With great respect and excitement, we are bringing Sensorie to EU and look forward to meeting everyone who joins us on this journey.
